First Impression | Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation

Hey everyone!  Today I want to share my first impression of the Ready Set Gorgeous foundation by Covergirl.  I've only heard one person briefly mention this foundation in a video, but I haven't seen any in depth reviews of it.  It's been around for several months already, but I've just now been noticing it in more stores.  I wanted to try it out for myself because I've been on the lookout for a nice foundation and I thought it would be a great product to try in a first impression!

Details
Ready Set Gorgeous
Price range $7-$9
Oil free
12 shades - My shade is 305 Golden Tan
Claims to reduce shine and last all day
Medium coverage

Packaging
I really like the packaging.  It's sleek and easy to carry around.  It's a squeeze tube and it's easy to control how much you use.  The product contains 1 fluid ounce.

Application
I looked on the website for the directions, and it said to use a disposable sponge wedge or your fingertips to apply.  I took a pea sized amount and used my fingertips and dabbed the foundation on my cheeks and forehead and then blended it out and I did not like the way it was looking.  I felt like it wasn't spreading evenly.  I picked up a flat top brush and started stippling and blending in circular motions and the results were SO much better.  The color also matched my skin tone perfectly.

Coverage
After one coat I could tell my skin looked more even in skin tone, but I wasn't satisfied with the coverage because it was so light.  I added on a second coat using the flat top brush and I could really see the medium coverage coming through.  Two coats of it worked perfectly for me.  My skin tone was even, but I could still see my natural skin through the foundation.

Setting
The foundation set pretty quickly and my face looked matte.  Right after I blended everything out, my skin didn't feel sticky at all.  My skin felt smooth, and I could tell from the texture that it was a foundation that is really geared towards oily skin.  I did set the foundation with a light dusting of my Rimmel Stay Matte powder.  My face didn't look cakey, but I could tell that I had foundation on.

Results
About two hours after applying the foundation, I checked to see how my face was looking and I noticed that the makeup looked more natural.  I wasn't oily, but I had a natural glow.

An hour and a half later I was getting ready to go out to dinner and I noticed that a little bit of oil was starting to show, but it wasn't anything too noticeable.  I blotted my face to get rid of it and added no extra powder.

I got home about 5 hours later and the foundation looked the same.  It looked really nice and natural, and it didn't oxidize.

Final Thoughts
So I think I might have found my new favorite product!  I was very impressed with the way it held up on my face because my skin can get extremely oily.  This is definitely something to try if you have oily skin.  I wouldn't really recommend this to those who have dry skin unless you really really moisturize beforehand.  I would ignore the directions it gives and use some kind of flat top brush that you can really work the foundation into your skin with.  I don't own a Beauty Blender, but I can imagine that it would be great to apply the foundation with as well.  I'm going to continue using it, and hopefully this will be in a favorites post in the future!

I hope this first impression helped you if you were considering buying this product or you're on the lookout for a new foundation!
