ColourPop | Haul + First Impression

Hey everyone!  I'm so excited for this post because it's about my first ColourPop purchase!  If you've never heard of ColourPop, it is a makeup company that started in Los Angeles that sells great products at extremely affordable prices online.  I've been hearing a lot about this company from many YouTubers, and once I found out they were giving away a free eyeshadow with purchase for their first birthday,  I couldn't resist ordering a couple of things to try out.  Read more to see what I got and what I think of them!

I knew right away that I wanted to buy their lippie stix and lippie pencils.  I had the hardest time deciding what to get because there were so many great options to choose from.  I decided to go for something that I could wear everyday, but at the same time I wanted something that I didn't already have.  I went back and forth between colors, but I kept coming back to the "Brink" set.  This lip combo was described on the website as a Kylie Jenner inspired lip combination.  The last time I went to Mac to pick up "Whirl" and "Velvet Teddy" they were sold out, so I took that as a sign that this was the one to try.

As soon as I got mine in the mail, I couldn't wait to try them out.  First I swatched them, and I was so impressed!  The lip pencil glides on so smooth and unlike other lip liners I have. The lippie stick also glided on smoothly, and both are very pigmented.  When I actually applied them to my lips, I loved them even more.  It was so easy to apply, and one coat of both did the trick.

Sometimes liners can look kind of dry, but this lippie pencil didn't look dry at all.  The lippie stick in "Brink" is a matte finish,  and this matte also doesn't look dry.  Once you apply it, it looks a bit more shiny than normal matte lipsticks, but then it sets to a really nice and natural looking matte.  The lasting power on these is also really great.  As for the Kylie Jenner comparison...on me the colors looked a bit more pink than I anticipated.  I would have liked for it to look a bit more brown.  If you have fair skin, I think this would look more like Kylie's famous lip color.

It's important to remember that the lippie stix have a matching liner, but they are NOT the same color and you don't have to buy them together.  I love that ColourPop pairs their lip products together like that because I have trouble pairing liners with lipsticks sometimes.  You'll see in the swatch that the lippie pencil is darker and has a browner undertone.  You don't have to buy the set if you don't want, but I think it's great that they have paired up the colors for you!

Since I made a purchase around ColourPop's first birthday, they had a promotion where you get a "Birthday Girl," eye shadow for free.  This color is so pretty, and it definitely screams "birthday girl." The consistency of these is really soft.  When I swatched it, I could feel the shadow sort of bounce when I push hard enough.  The pigmentation is amazing!  The color is between a pink and rose gold shimmer with specks of glitter.  The best way to apply it is to use your finger to pack on the color. There was a bit of fall out from the glitter, but it wasn't a hassle to clean it up.  This is the perfect color to wear on a night out!  Unfortunately, "Birthday Girl" is not available to buy, but I still wanted to share what I thought of the product.

Top to bottom: Birthday Girl, "Brink" Lippie Stix, "Brink" Lippie Pencil

Like I said before, ColourPop is super affordable.  Their lippie stix, pencils, and eyeshadows are only $5!  Definitely check them out if you're looking for great quality products for an amazing price!

I also want to say that I had such a great experience ordering from them the first time!  They got back to me very quickly when I had a question about my order.  When I got my package there was a nice little handwritten thank you note from them, and two cards that told me how to use my new products.

This definitely will not be the last time I buy from ColourPop.  I'm kind of obsessed at the moment! Have you tried any ColourPop products?  What are your favorites?  Thanks for reading!
