"Champagne Pop" Becca x Jaclyn Hill | Review

Hey everyone!  I've got something really special to share today.  Over the past couple months I've really been loving using highlighters and I wanted to take it to the next level.  I FINALLY got my hands on Jaclyn Hill's Champagne Pop highlighter in collaboration with Becca Cosmetics.  If you don't know who Jaclyn Hill is, she is an AMAZING makeup artist who makes YouTube videos.  I've been testing this out for a few weeks, and since it is still available, I wanted to give you guys a review on it because I think it will be really helpful if you're not sure you want to spend a lot of money on a highlighter.  Just keep reading to see my thoughts on this product...

Becca x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector
"Champagne Pop"
Only at Sephora (in store and online)
$38.00

This is my very first Becca product.  I've swatched the other Becca highlighters, but I never committed to buying one because it is a very pricey product.  I just had to try Champagne Pop because I absolutely love Jaclyn and wanted to support her.  First off, this highlight is a beautiful shade.  It is described to be a "soft white gold with pinky peach undertones."  Jaclyn wanted to create a shade that would be perfect for all skin tones, and I think she did just that.  It has both that shimmery sheen as well as very small flecks of glitter.  When I first swatched it in the store I was blown away by just how shimmery and pigmented it was.

I tested it out as much as I could with different foundations and makeup looks, and although it is an amazing highlight, it didn't work for my skin.  Since this highlight does have a bit of glitter in it, it really emphasized the texture on my skin.  I was so bummed out because I really wanted to make it work.  Even with my skin improving over the last few months, my skin just doesn't get along well with this highlighter.

If you don't have many problems with your skin, I think this would be great for you.  Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it to those who have skin texture issues and and large pores.  Apart from those issues, the formula is amazing...extremely pigmented and creamy for a powder.  If you have fair skin and have trouble finding a highlight that shows up,  Champagne Pop is definitely the highlighter for you!

Have you tried out Champagne Pop?  Let me know how it works for you.  And if you have any of the other Becca highlighters, I would love to know what you think of them.  Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!

    1. Thank you! I didn't get my hands on this until a month after it launched because it sold out so quickly! Hopefully you'll be able to pick one up for yourself soon :)
